"Urban Elder" looks at today's urban Indians and the methods they are discovering to integrate important expressions of traditional Native culture into contemporary city life.  The tradition of the Elder, a person of great wisdom is one such expression. 

Vern Harper, the subject of this documentary walks the
"Red Road" in a fast-paced urban landscape.  In his own voice, Harper tells the Urban Elder story of how he reaches into the past for his people's traditions, blending old ways
