Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Fetal Alcohol Effects
This program introduces future parents to the dangers of alcohol consumption during pregnancy and educates them on the topic of Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS) and Fetal Alcohol Effects (FAS).
The fetus is fragile, dependent on its mother for nourishment. It cannot "say no" to drugs, such as alcohol. The possible lifelong effects of alcohol on a child are examined in this program, as are the physical, emotional, and psychological symptoms of a child with FAS. Interviews with families whose lives have been affected by FAS are included.
Viewers are advised that if they intend to commit themselves to raising a family. They must also commit themselves to healthy behavior during pregnancy.
