Research suggests that to get to children's intellectual centers you have to go through their emotional centers. Once the five basic needs of kids are met in healthy ways, we can reduce their using unhealthy ways to meet their needs. Teachers need to be convinced it is worth their time and part of their job to build relationships with their students and thus promote respect and responsibility on both sides (teacher and student). It is a reframing of people's attitudes in an easy to grasp framework including step by step guidelines including workbooks, workshops, seminars, handouts, etc.
